The work of Chinese cartoonist Liu Qiang won the first place in the 10th International Turhan Selçuk Cartoon Competition held in the Milas district of Muğla. The results of the 10th International Turhan Selçuk Cartoon Contest organized by the Milas Municipality have been announced. 411 cartoonists from 56 countries participated in the cartoon competition organized in memory of the famous cartoonist Turhan Selçuk, born in Milas, with 1,722 works. The jury, which should be gathered in the Turhan Selçuk Caricature House, but evaluated online on the Zoom platform due to the corona virus epidemic, determined the cartoons that ranked among the thousand 722 cartoons.

The jury members formed by Milas Mayor CHP’s Muhammet Tokat, Ruhan Selçuk, Kamil Masaracı, İzel Rozental, Sonay Yılmaz, Hicabi Demirci, Nazım Alpman, Ramize Erer, Çiğdem Demir, Yüksel Aksu and Serter Karataban are entitled to the first, second and third places. and the cartoons that were deemed worthy of special awards.

At the end of the jury evaluations, Liu Qiang from China won the first prize, Galym Boranbayev from Kazakhstan and the third prize Hassan Omidi from Iran.
This year, besides the first, second and third prizes, the Jury Special Award, Cumhuriyet Newspaper, Milas City Council, Labranda Water, İMOGA, Schneider Temple, Tema Foundation and Berk Laminant special awards were given.

We are preparing a book about Turhan Selçuk and his art and life ”.
