Who am I? I am a web designer, animator, illustrator by profession and working for Life9 Systems, an IT consulting organization in Bangalore and a freelance cartoonist and caricaturist by passion and draw cartoons regularly to the news papers and magazines. Basically I have done my fine art degree specialized in „Advertising‟ by Govt. School of Arts, Davangere, Karnataka.
About my Cartoons I have started creating cartoon during the year 1985 when I was studying my pre university course. My first pocket cartoon published in „Sudha‟ (Deccan Herald group of publications) magazine and until now there are about more than 5,000 cartoons published in various news papers and magazines like Times of India, Prajavani, Sudha, Mayura, Taranga, Udayavani and so on. I also create caricatures and many of them have been published in print media. I draw Caricatures in public/corporate events. Other Activities I have served as a secretary, Karnataka Cartoonists Association for the duration 2001-2005. Attended many cartoon group and self cartoon exhibitions all over the country and abroad. Participating and teaching „Digital Cartoons‟ in cartoon workshops organized by various organizations like Karnataka Cartoonists Association, Indian Institute of Cartoonists, Edneer Mutt, Kasargod, Kerala, Karnataka Maadhyam Academy, Corporation Bank Officers Association, Mangalore to name a few. Selected as one of the cartoonist from Karnataka State to attend the cartoon workshop conducted by well known cartoonist R.K. Laxman during 1996 in Nagpur, Maharashtra organized by South Central Cultural Zone, Nagpur.
Rewards 1. First prize in „Taranga weekly10th Anniversary‟ cartoon competition. 2. First prize in the national level cartoon competition on „Globalization‟ from Andhra Pradesh. 3. Received Special prize in „AIDS national level cartoon competition‟ from Andhra Pradesh Government. 4. Received recognition from Tabriz International cartoon competition. 5. Special Prize from Karnataka Government in cartoon competition on “Vehicle Pollution” as part of Road Safety Week, 2008.
Recognition a). An article on my profile published in Vijaya Karnataka News paper. b). Interviewed by Bangalore Doordarshan and telecasted many times in their channel. c). Selected my cartoon as „Editor‟s choice‟ from www.Indianink.org website.
Professional Activities As a professional Graphic Designer, I have worked as Illustrator, Animator, Graphic Artist for various Advertising and Software companies. At present, working as Senior User Experience Designer at EMC Software India Ltd. I create web design, flash animations, presentations etc.
Freelance As a freelance cartoonist and illustrator, I have worked with publishers for school books, poster designs and story boards for NGO, UNISEF and other Government organizations. I drew illustrations for the serials in Sudha, kannada magazine. I have been doing spot caricatures for corporate festivals, events, etc.
Travel I have got an opportunity to work in Singapore (2001) for 4 months and United States for 3times (2007 and 2008) on assignment from the current organization.
