Firuz Kutal Born in Turkey, moved to Norway, got MA degree as Graphic designer and illustrator. Freelancer since 1990. Created political cartoons, his cartoons are published in several Turkish, Norwegian, English, Italian, French and German newspapers.
He has some honorary mentions around the world and In December 2009 he won one of United Nation’s Ranan Lurie POLITICAL CARTOON AWARD for ”Citation for Excellence” for ”Citation for Excellence” for works that “reflect principle and spirit.” Kutal’s work on “Peace Doves” criticises the US American invasion to Iraq aiming to establish democracy despite preceding protests. He had Premier prize in Fax for Peace competition in Venice, Italy. Recently he was HumoDEVA contest 2018 Bronze Prize -ex aequo winner.
He is a regular cartoonist for a news-portal Vart Oslo and newspaper Utrop in Norway and produces cartoons and magazine covers for Turkish media too. Had many joint exhibition around the globe and 3 personal exhibition, one of them was in Cuba, Havana in 2013.
Member of Cartooning for Peace, United Sketches, Cartoon Movement, Member of FECO-Norway. and a member of PEN Norway, Current residence in Norway. Married and have a daughter.
