Cartoonist and painter Fethi Develioğlu passed away. The 68-year-old artist was working as a street painter and cartoonist in Ortaköy Square.
Fethi Develioğlu was born in 1953 in Istanbul. His first cartoon was published in Akbaba Magazine in 1973. The artist, whose work was taken to the World Cartoon Museum (Tolentino/Italy) in 1978, was selected as the best political cartoonist of the last ten years by the American Cartoonists Association (AACE) in 1979.
Develioğlu, who was a member of the board of directors and supervisory board of the Cartoonists Association, became a permanent member of the Cartoonists and Writers Syndicate, headquartered in New York, in 1985. In 2000, he was accepted as a Permanent Member of the National Cartoonists Association in New York.
Participating in national and international competitions and exhibitions, Develioğlu won 30 awards and published eight books.
